Vivien is very excited to have published her compelling debut novel ‘Bound By The Scars We Share’ which highlights a generation of women, in an age of gender inequality, who faced lives of conflict and unfulfillment as they struggled with experiences of adversity and personal trauma. This makes for powerful reading and is as relevant today as the settings chosen.

Zoshia’s story is a fictionalized account of Vivien’s Jewish mother’s suffering when she was persecuted by the German soldiers during WWII. Throughout her life she insisted her bravery in helping Jewish children escape from France, to the safety of Switzerland, was kept secret. Her guilt at surviving when others were killed, haunted her always.

Vivien communicates the suppression of women by connecting her mother’s suffering to that of an imagined female heroine, Grace, who survived torment and abuse of a personal nature
